I'm not making an opinion post about Aleksandr, I'm just stating Raid maths facts. However, Warmaiden is not free from an opportunity cost perspective in terms of early game energy and food farming and here's the facts. but so's Aleksandr and you do get Legendary books for free too. "is she really free?" From a monetary perspective, yes, you get her without having to spend money in Raid. I used her for over a year in dragon 20.I have seen a lot of comments about how S1mple / Aleksandr is a bad champion because you can farm a Warmaiden for free who does the exact same AOE Def Down 100% on a 3 turn CD. Warmaiden is THE best dragon 20 runner for average free to play. Apoth doesn’t need to worry about ACC, so it is so much easier to gear him, any speed gear will work. It is pure Support like Apothecary should be left at lvl 50 first. So that in any wave you can always pick 1 positive affinity+ 1 neutral affinity to avoid weak affinity issue. Those 3 will be the perfect beginner 3 affinity choice. If shards no luck, their third choice should be Shield guard for a powerful spirit affinity tanky damage dealer. A lvl50 Warmaiden will become the wave target and is only viable in a beginning nuke arena situation.
